Objections / Submissions
The Planning Place can help you review development proposals that may affect you and your property. We can check if the application is correctly made and is a valid application/approval. We can assess the proposal against the relevant provisions of the planning scheme and assess the impacts the proposed development will have on amenity and existing surrounding uses.
Submissions have been prepared for adjoining residents, community groups, business groups and shop retailers.
A selection of submissions we have prepared related to the following type of development:
- Multi-Unit dwellings
- New house in character residential area
- Shopping centres
- Change to master planned community approval
Public Notification & Community Consultation
The Planning Place can assist with a seamless transition into the public notification stage for those applications requiring public notification. We can assist you with both Notifiable Code Assessment and Impact Assessment – public notification procedures.
Our services include notice to adjoining landowners, erecting the notification sign on the land and organising the public notice in the relevant local newspaper. Public notification services are offered for both local and regional areas. The public notification is undertaken in compliance with the Regulatory Provisions of the Sustainable Planning Act and a Compliance Notice is submitted on your behalf.
If required, greater community consultation can be undertaken involving agreements with adjoining landowners, public meetings, information sessions and presentations to whole of Council meetings. The Planning Place has experience consulting with traditional land owners and preparation of Indigenous Land Use Agreements for registration with Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM).
